I wasn’t sure how to illustrate the process of making alcohol without it looking more like a technical diagram than a piece of artwork, but then I had this idea of the yeast and sugars coming through in different lanes of a road system to get together in the washbacks where the yeast feeds on the sugars to produce ethanol (= alcohol) and carbon dioxide. Hmm. My next thought was… “how do I draw lorries?” I suppose I should say “tanker”, not “lorry”. Anyway, here they are with their yeast and sugars, and there’s other stuff going on too. Hey – some of those people are in places where they shouldn’t be!
