One of the sketches done for a document I wrote about coastal habitats for the UK National Plant Monitoring Scheme (NPMS). Japanese rose is not native here; it originates from the far East. It is one of those species that people brought here and planted “cos it looks nice” only to find that it can get out of hand! Well, it’s not the worst of those species. People’s viewpoints may differ, but my personal worst is rhododendron (Rhododendron ponticum). But don’t get me started on that species!
