This is drawn from one of my randomly chosen locations on Google Street View. Instead of panning around for a ‘better’ view or composition to avoid that lamppost being so close to the left edge and perhaps to include something more distant to balance the foreground, I just drew it. Well, this is the kind of thing we see when we’re just about to cross a road. We don’t go around twisting and turning our heads all the time so as to be always viewing the best available composition while we do whatever we’re doing. No – very often we’re seeing views like this.
