This liverwort forms small green patches on rocks and banks in shaded, very humid situations in western Scotland, western Ireland, the Faroe Islands, the Azores and Madeira. It is a rare species – always an exciting find. The drawing shows some Acrobolbus that I found in a wooded ravine in Morvern, Scotland.
