I drew this picture as an illustration in the autumn 2017 Native Woodlands Discussion Group newsletter, to accompany a woodland history conference report whose author wrote that Gordon (who was one of the conference speakers) “rounded off the day by…”. Well, I just pictured Gordon having just finished work with chisels and stone, finally heading off for a coffee or some food or just a well-earned rest…
