This is one of the sketches I did for a document I wrote recently (early 2021) about coastal habitats, for the UK National Plant Monitoring Scheme (NPMS). Sea-kale is edible, just like ordinary kale. The curly-edged leaves have quite a smooth surface texture, again like ordinary kale. Really? You don’t know what ordinary kale is? Oh heck. Looks like I’ve been wasting my time. OK – sorry. Not your fault. I’ll tell you what ordinary kale is. It’s… it’s… it’s quite similar to the sea-kale you’re looking at right here. There – that was easy!
