My daughter and I spent a week in New York City in summer 2014. Our only trip across the Atlantic ever (or at least so far). What a fantastic city! A very warm and welcoming place absolutely full of life. It felt as though its status among cities could be “capital of the world”. Anyway, we made trips out from Manhattan to The Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn, and here in The Bronx we came across this place with a good mix of tree species, and understorey, varied ground vegetation, lots of birds, and so on – proper woodland. (Some of the woodland we saw in Central Park in Manhattan looked really decent too.)
